2006 Midwest Folk Festival Aug. 5-6
Find a variety of folk artists at the 2006 Midwest Folk Festival in Bishop Hill, Ill. Aug. 5-6. The Illinois Arts Council and the Bishop Hill Heritage Association in cooperation with the Bishop Hill State Historic Site present this special event that celebrates diverse cultures and arts of the region.
The annual festival, alternately hosted in Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois, will offer free live music and folk arts demonstrations. The festival hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.
Enjoy listening to blues, Irish fiddling, Creole music or Cambodian instruments or watch blacksmiths, weavers, quilters and rosemalers as they create their art. Visit five activity areas to learn, listen and participate in creating traditional folk art, including an artist-led children’s area.
