National Association of Latino Arts and Culture Announces Grants
Applications Available: March 2006. The National Association of Latino Arts
and Culture (NALAC) awarded 46 grants totaling $100,000 to 23 Latino artists and
23 Latino arts and cultural organizations in the United States. These grants,
made possible with major support from the Ford Foundation, support Latino artists,
ensembles, and small and midsize Latino arts and cultural organizations in communities
across the country. Support from the NALAC Fund for the Arts will help build the
capacity of Latino arts organizations, support the creation and presentation of
works by Latino artists and ensembles, and strengthen communities by investing
in the creative and cultural assets of Latinos in the United States. Current grant

Nominations for County Public Arts Leadership Award: Feb. 28
Americans for the Arts and the National Association of Counties (NACo) seek
nominations for the 2006 County Public Leadership in the Arts Award. This award
is given in recognition of an elected official or governing board whose role in
advancement of the arts and arts education within his or her community, and whose
vision and leadership, provide heightened visibility to the value of the arts.
The deadline for nominations is February 28, 2006. For more information about
