IAC Offers Training for New eGRANT System
The Iowa Arts Council will hold free informational training sessions for its new online grant application process. Online Registration for these online sessions is available.

The training sessions will be conducted through Spiderphone, an Internet and phone conferencing tool. Iowa Arts Council staff will guide participants through the eGRANT system via a live web demonstration and audio through the telephone. Complete instructions on how to participate in the class will be sent to class registrants, who will need a simultaneous phone and Internet connection to participate. More information is available by calling 515.281.3293.
Beginning with the April 1 deadline for major and mini grants, applications must be submitted online using the new eGRANT system. The system will be available March 2, 2006 at the Iowa Arts Council Web site, www.iowaartscouncil.org. In the meantime, organizations planning to apply for either type of funding may use the current downloadable applications available on the IAC Web site as a guide for preparing the application. That information must then be submitted online via eGRANT for the April 1, 2006 deadline.
The eGRANT system allows users to save application information online, eliminating the need to finish the application process all at once. Applicants will be able to call up the application online, save it and finish it when convenient. However, hard copies of support materials and signed service contracts must still be mailed or delivered, and be received by the Iowa Arts Council by 4:30 p.m. the day of the deadline.
