August 5-6: 2006 Midwest Folk Festival
Find a variety of folk artists at the 2006 Midwest Folk Festival in Bishop
Hill, Ill. Aug. 5-6. The Illinois Arts Council and the Bishop Hill Heritage
Association in cooperation with the Bishop Hill State Historic Site present
this special event that celebrates diverse cultures and arts of the region.

August 28: IAC Grant Writing Workshop , 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Western Historic Trails Center, Council Bluffs.
August 31: Performing Artists Roster application deadline.
September 8: Iowa Arts Council Board meeting, Decorah.
October 1: IAC Major Grant application deadline
Ongoing: Big Yellow School Bus Grants. Provides $200 to Iowa schools and preschools to underwrite the cost of field trips to attend arts events. http://www.iowaartscouncil.org/funding/big-yellow-school-bus/index.shtml
Ongoing: EZ 1-2-3 Grants. Up to $500 in matching funds to support artist visits to schools, performances in your community, or presentations by artists trained in Character Counts! principles.
Ongoing: Mini grants. Applications due the first of each
month. Apply for up to $1,500 in matching funds for arts-related projects.
