Iowa Arts Council visits Fort Dodge in May

“Office on the Road” and grant writing workshop scheduled

(DES MOINES, Iowa) — The Iowa Arts Council will hold office hours and present a grant writing workshop in May in Fort Dodge.

IAC staff will be available for an “Office on the Road” 9 a.m.-noon and the workshop will be 1-4 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Iowa Central Community College, Triton Gallery at Decker Auditorium, 1 Triton Circle in Fort Dodge.

“Office on the Road was created for constituents who do not have the means or the time to visit our office in Des Moines,” IAC Administrator Mary Sundet Jones said. “We know there are constituents who need one-on-one time with our staff to work through questions about IAC programs as well as their own projects and planning. Plus, we are eager to visit with artists and arts organizations to see the great things happening in their communities.”

During Office on the Road hours, IAC staff will be available for 20-minute sessions offering assistance and guidance with arts-related project planning and grant programs. Those interested in meeting with IAC staff should contact Sarah Ekstrand at sarah.ekstrand@iowa.gov or 515-281-4657 to schedule an appointment.

During the workshop, IAC staff will present information about grant programs for artists, educators and community leaders who want to learn about the application process, receive guidance about funding priorities and guidelines, hear tips for writing grants and participate in a mock panel review of actual grants submitted to IAC. Register for the grant writing workshop at www.iowaartscouncil.org.
