Iowa Arts Council grant writing workshop Aug. 25 in Des Moines
(DES MOINES, Iowa)— The Iowa Arts Council will host a grant writing workshop 1-4 p.m. Aug. 25, 2008 at the State Historical Building, 600 E. Locust Street in Des Moines.
IAC staff will present information about grant programs offered by the Iowa Arts Council. Artists, educators, organizations and community leaders can learn about the application process, receive guidance about funding priorities and guidelines, and hear tips for writing grants.
Presenters will discuss the submission process and how to plan and prepare for writing an IAC Major or Mini Grant. The workshop will also cover what review panels look for in terms of three review criteria: Artistic Excellence, Service to Iowans and Planning/Implementation.
Participants will review and score a grant application submitted to IAC as part of a grant reading exercise, and participants will be able to have one-on-one consultations with IAC staff at the end of the workshop.
