• For apprenticeships: Master/s and Apprentice/s are from the same culture group or community from which the art form is derived
• For apprenticeships: clear description of both the Master’s and the Apprentice’s experience and background with this traditional art/skill/craft/ knowledge

• Project delivers high quality folk and/or traditional arts or arts experiences to Iowans
• Clear identification of a target audience and clear plans for marketing/ promotion to this audience
• Clear description of why this project is important for the target audience and/or the artist applicant (for apprenticeships: description of why this tradition is important to its community)
• If applicable, a clear description of underserved audiences to be reached by this project, and why they are underserved in terms of access to the arts
• Ability of project plan to address IAC funding priorities
• For apprenticeships: project plan is consistent with the Folk & Traditional Arts Apprenticeship Model
