The Art Educators of Iowa Annual Conference will be held October 13-15, 2006 in Des Moines Iowa. The conference titled "Art ... or Else! A Focus on Advocacy" will focus on up-to-the-minute art education speakers, panel discussions and hands-on opportunities for teachers.

Professional artist, Marcia Joffe-Bouska, will provide an opportunity
for K-5 students at the Orange City Elementary School to experience the joy
and fulfillment of creating art. Core group students will be introduced to
sculptures from a variety of cultures and then be assisted in constructing
their own styrofoam sculpture.
