Architectural Historian: Molly Naumann

Architectural historian Molly Naumann will spend six days in the classroom teaching students the connection and importance of art in architecture and how it plays a part in our community so the process of preserving the local sites can take place.

The Art of Guiyuan Liang

$1,500

Iowans in four communities will have the opportunity to attend a lecture, demonstration, master class and see the original art of one of the world’s leading Chinese brush painters. Guiyuan Liang is recognized for fusing Western watercolor painting techniques into traditional Chinese brush painting.

Hispanic Cultural Festival and Exhibit

Hispanic Cultural Festival and Exhibit will include stage entertainment with Ballet Folklorico of the Quad Cities, Calle Sure, Valentine Ruiz, and Jesus Rios (Mr. Illusion). The cultural exploration exhibit will focus on the countries of Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Mexico, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Chile, Guatemala, Argentina, Cuba, Colombia and Ecuador.


Jordan Creek Elementary, West Des Moines

Project Art 2005

Project Art 2005 at Jordan Creek is an opportunity to enrich the students with a full day of art activities, performances and workshops conducted by parents and Iowa artists which include, among others, Fons Koster, Maureen Korte, and Tom Milligan. Each student in grades 1-6 will have five 40-minute workshops in various disciplines of art. Kindergarteners and special needs students will have three 20-minute workshops.


Gospel Sounds Promotions, Davenport

Four Day Mass Choir Workshop Performances

Throughout this four day event, singers ages 14 and older will form a Gospel Mass Choir, which will then provide two public performances. Workshop facilitator Demetrius Beachum will lead participants through a two-day, seven-hour workshop in vocal techniques of gospel music performance. Funding will provide support for workshop production, instruction, publicity and promotion.
